For me, there is no choice. I love my work and I love my life outside of my work.

I realise I've spent much of my life trying not to compromise between satisfying work and the rest of my life.

In my twenties I ditched the work opportunities to be home with my babies because that felt like the only way to be fully present with them.

In my forties I went all in on my career and, despite my best efforts, accidentally found myself severely compromising my health and life outside of work.

But I refuse to choose between work and life. For me, there is no choice. I love my work and I love my life outside of my work. 

I want it all.

I want the freedom to be myself - all of me.

Which includes work.

Without compromising my integrity or squishing myself into someone I don't recognise (the snappy monkey who's been pushed too far, for example!)

The Gentle Rebellion is about finding the freedom to be ourselves - without choosing to lose vital parts of ourselves to have satisfying work.
